Expendables

As a courtesy, our grip trucks include partial rolls of tape and cut expendables, but because of the complex nature of the movie business, it's best that your production provide all the expendables best suited for your project. We may not have it in stock, or the previous show may have used it all up (very common btw), or cut it into unusable shreds. We can buy them for you (at extra cost), or you can do it yourself, saving yourself a bit of money in the process.  At the end of the show, anything you bought you keep -- store it somewhere safe and bring it to the next show.

On a big Commercial or a typical indie Feature Film, we highly recommend having:

Yes, Expendables Recycler is a home business.

Open Mon - Fri 8:30am - 5:00pm

ER has been in business for over 20 years, and is hands down the cheapest place to buy expendables.  We have bought expendables from ER over the years, and is always the first place we call.

Filmtools

Phone: (818) 845-8066
Open Mon-Fri 8am-6pm, Sat 9am-6pm

If you're in the valley, Filmtools is your closest and best resource for camera, lighting, grip, electrical, sound and expendables supplies. More expensive than ER, but their selection borders on the ridiculous. And did we forget to mention they are OPEN ON SATURDAY.

How handy!  A bus stop.  Just in case your car breaks down.

Rumor has it that the light in the parking lot is older than time itself.

Mole Richardson's Studio Depot

Mole Richardson is one of the biggest names in the movie lighting business, with it's roots dating back to 1923.  Studio Depot is their expendables supply store, located in the heart of Hollywood.

Their selection is even more amazing than Filmtools -- you can spend hours walking through the aisles looking at everything they carry. Or at least we can.
